Have you guys ever experienced talking in your sleep, while at the same time half-consciously awake to hear yourself speak? I admit that I’m not particularly new to this but it’s been quite a long time now since I found myself speaking while asleep until now.
For the past few weeks, there has been an increased frequency of my sleep talking. I found myself aware though of what my big fat mouth is doing but somehow couldn’t do anything about it. It’s as if my subconscious is doing the talking while my ears hear every word of it.
Most of the time I don’t remember much of what I’m talking about upon waking up but what’s certain is how it’s looking like I’m “talking to someone”, or at the very least reacting against what I’m seeing in my dreams while supposedly under REM sleep.
Surprisingly, no one in the household has ever heard me talk in my sleep all this time, no matter how I loud my voice gets. Either that or they never approached me with regards to it.
Nevertheless, it’s weird that it’s only happening to me now when it could have been a recurring thing throughout my life. Perhaps it has something to do with my recent sleep habits like sleeping at midnight or taking naps in the afternoon. I can never pinpoint how and why.
But at least, it’s better this way than have some old hag sit on my chest while asleep.
