Sometimes, I am at a crossroads where I feel like I have to choose a path and stick to it for as long as I can. The decisions I make would often results with feelings of no regrets and otherwise. Such is the case that I am having now as I head into the last few months of my 24th year in life.
I have told myself time and time again to never give up on my dreams, to not lose hop, and take the chance to show people what I’ve got when the situation presents itself one the forefront. I have written countless entries in my blog about how strong I need to be to overcome the challenges that I face, including the ridicule and shame I receive from people I would never expect to do to me.
I still stand by with what I have said before, and every year I remind myself why I chose this path, a path not defined by my past and present employment status, nor by the machinations and connections of certain forces. I admit that I am struggling, and feel like a total waste. But whenever I hear stories of people who succeed with their own pursuits, who overcame the doubts and fears, and never allowed the mockery to put them down to concede and accept defeat; those stories fueled my passion and reignites the fire inside me to never give up, no matter the circumstances that I have to live with, each and every single day.
While I take comfort of my current domesticated state, I long to live the dream and explore like an adventurer once again, to live the state that once became the center of my world for the time I had a hold of it; The feeling that I have control of my destiny, to do things that make me happy, to flourish and become a little something more.
I will do whatever it takes to finally create my own path, a road that I myself have built for myself, for which will bring me to where I want to be, to be who I want to be.
