No More Saturday Oldies on DWRT-FM Means What?

Same station. New Name.

Same station. New Name.

This is going to be the first time since I started listening to DWRT-FM four years ago that I may not have something to look forward to on the frequency’s Saturday programming. Thus, this is gonna be the first time in four years (since the days of Campus 99.5) that the station won’t be airing a weekend oldies program since the new management slotted such a retrospective programming on Wednesdays to compete against Wave 89.1’s Waveback Wednesdays and RX 93.1’s Monster’s Riot.

The Rhythm of the City

 

By now, some of you may have already heard about the impending final sign-off of one of the most iconic radio brands ever to grace Manila’s FM band, 99.5RT, after more than 30 years on the air. RT as a format is going to be ditched in favor of one that’s similar to the likeness of its sister station (and over-all flagship brand of the TRPI/Tiger 22 radio empire), Magic 89.9, in order to boost revenues, or so I read online.
