Ctrl+Z: A Shortcut of Showcase

Sometimes, to look forward to the future is to look back in the past. If there’s one thing you want to change, it is embracing who you are from the very depths of your soul.

ctrl+Z: A Multimedia Exhibit

That’s exactly what I came to understand about the theme of Ctrl+Z, a multimedia exhibit that just had its opening night last Friday, ongoing until this Sunday.

Headed by the guy who made everything possible term after term, Sir Hansel Lou Gonzales, ctrl+Z showcases the best works made by 16 aspiring AB Multimedia Arts (ABMMA) students of De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde’s School of Design and Arts (SDA). Artworks range from wall drawings to art installations to unfathomable canvases to impressive photographs to even a strange restroom cubicle in the middle of the hallway where you can exit all the pain and anguish that are troubling your mind and stomach. I-poopoo na any lahat ng dinaramdam!

I went there as part of my end-of-the-year resolution to visit all of the second trimester’s Portfol exhibits. I was quite busy the past year, between working and not working. In addition, I wish to rediscover my MMA roots, to get some much needed inspiration for me to once again tap my noodle.

As a last-minute addition, the exhibit also sidelines as a fundraiser to aid victims of the recent typhoon onslaught at the Visayas region. Visitors who wish to pass by the exhibit this weekend have a chance to help out Details can be found on their official Facebook page.

You can still visit Ctrl+Z as it is open until Sunday the 17th November 2013. It’s located at the second floor of LRI Design Plaza along Nicanor Garcia Street. It’s just a few blocks away from Mapua Institute of Technology‘s Makati Campus and the recently opened Jazz Mall.
