The CSB Experience 2: “CSB ka rin pala…”

I met this guy at the gym this afternoon (although we already knew each other since I started going there 3 years ago) and he was telling me that I barely work out anymore. I replied that I simply don’t have the time to do so given my then-hectic schedule in college.

He asked from what school I am from, and I answered “Sa CSB po…”
“CSB?”
“Opo…”
“Ah….Anong course mo doon?”
“Ano po, Multimedia Arts…” (If I say ‘MMA’, he might mistaken it as an acronym for ‘Mixed Martial Arts’ hahaha!)
“…Talaga? Doon din ako grumaduate…Id 94 ako, natapos noong 97”
“Ah talaga po?..Anong course niyo po” (What’s up with me and the “po’s”?)
“C.A. (BSBA-Computer Applications)”
Then he started asking me about some certain people who may be still in CSB, mostly from C.A. I said to him that I don’t know much about the people in CA although i did gave him a heads up on who are now the heads of the D.O. (Office of Student Behaviour/Behavior) and the LMO since he mentioned that there were female heads back in his day. I also mentioned to him that CSB PUSO no longer goes by that name.
Not sure if he’s also in the know, since he may have mistaken my course as a part of SMIT (School of Management and Information Technology) especially that the ABMMA program was started a little over 2 years after he left CSB.
I knew way back when I was starting out in the gym. I found out that he’s a taekwondo blackbelter (we had a sparring 2 years ago and I was literally knocked out by him), and an “Army reserve” or so says one of our colleagues there.
Although I’m not really the type of guy who are very sociable (It’s different if it is in school) around people much, I’m just glad that I was able to make friends in this venture of mine.

The CSB Experience 2: Aymadi-El

EWAN!
I was pretty much surprised the moment I got my first course card for the first term. I was like “WHAT?! A FREAKIN’ ‘3.0’?!” Then it just went on…a 3.5, a 3.0, a 2.5, a 3.5, and a 3.5. Never have I expected myself to become a Dean’s Lister, especially after my first three terms in CSB. Highly unexpected!
I guess the secret for being DL is being armed with: knowledge, guts, luck, hard work, and captivating charm.
Hay, I just hope i could keep the momentum for two more terms so I could apply for a grant, or at the very least letting me able to pre-enroll early.
Here’s my list of grades, enjoy!:
 • Cathwor DFS7 Grade=3.0
 • Joseriz DFSB Grade=3.5
 • Oralcom LLF1 Grade=3.0
 • Hartds1 DFS3 2.5 Grade=2.5
 • Philien A0E Grade=3.5
 • Petwoda GOA Grade=3.5
Add them up and i got= 3.1666667=3.17
Wohoo!
And to express my first time being a DL, here’s a song that we can all relate:
For the First Time
by Kenny Loggins
Are those your eyes

Is that your smile
I’ve been lookin’ at you forever
But I never saw you before
Are these your hands
Holdin’ mine
Now I wonder how I could have been so blind
CHORUS:
For the first time
I am looking in your eyes
For the first I’m seein’ who you are
I can’t believe how much I see
When you’re lookin’ back at me
Now I understand what love is…
Love is…for the first time…
Can this be real
Can this be true
Am I the person I was this morning
And are you the same you
It’s all so strange how can it be
All along this love was right in front of me
CHORUS:
For the first time
I am looking in your eyes
For the first I’m seein’ who you are
I can’t believe how much I see
When you’re lookin’ back at me
Now I understand what love is…
Love is…for the first time…
Such a long time ago
I had given up on findin’ this emotion…ever again
But you live with me now
Yes I’ve found you somehow
And I’ve never been so sure
CHORUS:
For the first time
I am looking in your eyes
For the first I’m seein’ who you are
I can’t believe how much I see
When you’re lookin’ back at me
Now I understand what love is…
Love is…for the first time…

The CSB Experience 2: Termbreaker Special

It’s that time of the year again, and every student must fulfill a necessary evil in order to go to the next level. That is what we call in the academic world: FINALS!

HAHAHAHA! At long last, I’m done with my finals and I’m free! I can’t believe I’m all through with my generals subjects, sans NSTP. Next term, it will all be art-related, from Freehand to Colrend to Partdes to Hartds-2.
Right now, I’m currently writing inside the SDA using my mom’s second-hand Powerbook G4 (a gift from my mom’s friend AND we didn’t bought it, just for clarification). I just finished with my last exam for the day, and I have yet to start to buy myself lunch. Don’t have anything much to do but to let the time pass since there’s this little thing i still have to do, and that si to get my course card from my Basicom professor. I wonder what grade she’d be giving me, a 3.5 perhaps?
By the way, next week will by termbreak anyway whose start (at least for those who don’t have exams tomorrow) is at the 30th of August. The following day is a special day for since it’s gonna be my 18th birthday, no longer a minor and is now a citizen eligible to vote, drink, smoke (not in a million years!), watch artistically done R-18 movies, so on and so forth.
The first of September will be the day when most of the course cards would be distribute to CSB students. I’m expecting that ALL of my subjects are not in the red, around 2-2.5 at the very least. However, I’m hopeful that for this term, i could become a dean’s lister. The past year wasn’t a pretty good one for me. 1st term, I almost became DL if not for my 2.0 grade from Filip11, while on 2nd term I got an R for Algeb-x. 3rd term, I wasn’t able to make the cut because 3 of my subjects got a 2.0 as well. For summer Bmat2x, I got a 1.0 barely. I do hope that this time around, I will become DL! I wanna experience at the very least how it feels to be one.
The rest of the 1st week of the month, probably I have to enroll for next term and maybe another visit to Greenhills to retrieve my phone. My parents decided I’m not gonna go with my phone’s repair since we recently found out that through Samsung’s assesment, the cost is to much to cover (That I will discuss on another post). I’m not sure yet if I’m going to buy stuff for several of my subjects, like Freehand and Colrend, maybe on the 1st week of 2nd term itself.
Speaking of “maybe”, I’m currently brainstorming a birthday bash for myself which I would threw it out with friends. Supposedly I want to have it happen on tomorrow but it is a little too late for thatsince I have to gather and inform people about it. Then the idea of having it on the 6th of September surfaced and I made this suggestion to a friend.
Unfortunately, he declined, citing his reason that there’s a big game on that day and a lot of people are going to watch. As if I care (last year, I used to but I realized that this whole rivalry thing is just plain silly, more often exaggerated. Far worse than the San Beda-Letran rivalry in the NCAA). So there’s goes my plan of holding *FINALLY* a reunion of sorts between my friends from my old school in Valenzeula, and those from my other school in Malabon. Actually, I’ve been planning about it for quite sometime now, 3 years to be exact. Plus, I’m not sure if quite a lot are going to be available on that day. I’m yet to make contact with the others about that possibility.
I got the opportunity to do so for my 16th birthday but unfortunately, most of my invites from SJA were rejected, because “it was too far…”. Oh heck, as if I don’t travel from far when I used to attend school in Malabon.
This is another clarification I need to make for all those who knew me in high school. Valenzuela that you know is NOT JUST the one along NLEX! It lies just next to Malabon and Bulacan! I even live in place which borders Obando and Santulan-Panghulo-Dapmpalit , the former which is a simple walking distance away from my house.
It’s totally unfair on my part since I go to their houses in similarly far-off places from my home, like Navotas and Caloocan, and there’s no complaint coming from my mouth that “it is too far”.
I’m not even sure if I could have this thing push through anyway.
(I wanna let everything off my mind right now thus I decided to write it out here. I didn’t meant to hurt anyone in particular although I’m serious about this matter in general. I’m not angry at all but somewhat disappointed with the way things are going. Oh well…)

Rumors

Honestly, I really haven’t heard of Gossip Girl until sometime around May when I was able to catch a glimpse of the hit CW series on ETC on SBN. What I didn’t know that by that time, that shows was already a pop culture phenomenone despite having low season ratings (it proves that ratings doesn’t reflect the true quality of a good television show). Its main theme is clear, a rumor and a gossip can make or break a person….

The CSB Experience 2: DLSU/CSB Id number tricks

Nakita ko to sa Pinoyexchange which in turn nanggaling sa isang Multiply site. Subukan ninyo
—————————–
just for fun, for some reason, an ID number consists of 8 digits.

you multiply the :

1st Digit by 8.

2nd by 7

and so on, just like this,

DLSU-M

1 * 8 = 8
0 * 7 = 0
5 * 6 = 30
0 * 5 = 0
0 * 4 = 0
2 * 3 = 6
3 * 2 = 6
5 * 1 = 5
——————-
55

CSB

1 * 8 = 8
0 * 7 = 0
4 * 6 = 24
5 * 5 = 25
0 * 4 = 0
8 * 3 = 24
1 * 2 = 2
5 * 1 = 5
——————
88

the total will always be divisible by eleven, else it’s not a lasallian ID number…
————

My turn:
1*8=8
0*7=0
7*6=42
5*5=25
0*4=0
8*3=24
4*2=8
3*1=3
Total Sum=110…………Wow! Asteeg!
