Enter the J-POD!

Wehehehehe! At long last, the most and long-awaited endless wait of all is over. I have in the palm of mah hands my one own I-POD Nano!! It’s a dream made in heaven! Oh yeah! I’m so happy happy!

Well okay, that’s too much loving. I’ve been waiting since August to have my own I-pod so now that I have one, I’m totally speechless!

My ninang who is based in Long Beach, CA bought this I-POD Nano for my 17th birthday but it was only last November when one of our relatives who lives with Ninang came home with a lot of pasalubongs plus my special gift. Base sa resibo na kasama sa I-Pod na yan, it was bought from Costco costing around US$212 (around not exact). If I were to bought one from here, it’d probabaly cost around Php10,000.00 around the same cost as my new Samsung phone.

From its first day of usage, I had 26 songs inserted into it, 14 from my “dramaholic” soundtrack CD volume 1. The next day, I admitted up to 30 more songs from my little brother’s collection plus from my own music files, totalling up to 58 songs. Yesterday, I included many songs from Utada Hikaru’s Exodus album plus a lot more which had my I-Pod carrying more than 80 songs. Other than that, I also added songs from my friend’s multiply accounts like Linkin Park, Solja Boy, and a whole lot more. I plan to have more from the many CDs we have around this house so that I can make use of my IPod’s 8 GB memory.

Did I just said “Nano”? Unlike the other Nano models, mine’s wider with functions similar to an Ipod Video. It has games, and extras. I’m not sure if it’s a newly-updated model but the important thing is, I’m no longer alien to my siblings who all have Ipods of their own.

I want to diversify the kind of music that I want to hear from my I-Pod that’s why I’m incorporating songs not only from the Anime/Jpop variety as well as songs that you may find corny but also songs from different musical genres like RnB, Ballads, Rock, etc.

At the very least, I don’t have to use my brain as an mp3 player and uncontrollably lip syncing as I do that. I don’t have to be bored whenever I hitch a ride at the LRT as I have something to keep my occupied. hehehe.

Oh my gosh, I have an I-POD!!! I HAVE A FREAKIN’ !@#$%^&* I-POD! AHHHHHH!

The Day I Found Out The Truth About Puppets

Noon pa man, fan na ako ng mga shows na puppets. Una sa listahan ko siyenmpre ay ang Sesame Street, tapos Batibot, then Awit Titik Bilang At Iba Pa (ATBP), pati na rin iyung children’s show sa PBS Kids noon na Cailou nung nasa States pa ako. Kaso, akala ko noon na buhay sila. Kahit na alam ko na puppets weren’t real, I had to know paano sila nagagalaw, paano sila nagkakaroon ng buhay. And that was how I found out the bitter truth.

I think I was around 8 or 9 years old then habang si Bernice maycecelebrate ng 6th birthday niya. Nalala ko pa rin noon na medyo tahimik siya, as compared sa ate niya na si Ate Bea (na nasa La Salle ngayon by the way).

Now, there was going to have a puppet show kaya happy ako at nang mga bata na nasa party. Ang theme ng show ay Power Puff Girls (yah, avid viewer ako ng show na iyon kasi wala namang magandang panoorin nung araw ‘no!). Ngayon, some people placed a big black box sa may isang part ng bahay kung saan gaganapin iyung puppet show. Other than it is big and black, may butas siya na parisukat, at ang gilid ay kinokoberan ng isang mahaba black cloth.

Later, naging curious ak on what wa beneath that box ot what ity is insiade. I took a peek and saw na may bukasan siya sa likod. Now, kasama ko ang mga pinsan ko, we went to see what on there. And voila! The Truth!!: Three guys with Powerpuff Puppets worn on their hands! They saw us and told us to get out! Ngeee… Nakakatakot iyon. And that’s how I leanred the truth about puppets.

Although alam ko naman na puppets are handled by real people (especially nung nanonood ako ng Marco dati), it was only that I saw it for myself. Waghh!

Six Years of jlhabitan@yahoo.com, jbata5 and foruming

Wow! I can’t believe that it has been six years already since I have a reigistered email address and of ruining people’s lives on internet message boards and online forums. So in line with my 17th birthday, I’ll be celebrating six years of my email add.’s existence and six years of foruming (is that even a word?)

It was August 2001, just a few weeks before my 11th birthday, I was super jealous that my 2 older siblings already have their own email addresses. So I begged my mother to register my own email add. The difficulty for my part was, since I was 10 turning 11, I was not old enough to register my own since Yahoo! only allows people 13 and above to freely register without any hassle. Those below thirteen must need their parent’s permission to have their own so it’s kinda hard really. Eventually, my mom had me surprised when she called me up from her office in DC, telling me that I now have my own email address, jlhabitan@yahoo.com. Yeah and my password was pretty easy to remember (considering I already know it personally). At first, I don’t have anyown to email with but a year later, I was able to use my email add to communicate with some of my friends in America and eventually to a whole lot. Overtime, I registered several other email addresses but it was really jlhabitan that really stood by me through the course of the years. now I use jlhabitan@yahoo.com for YM purposes. So HAPPY 6TH ANNIVERSARY!

Now on with the foruming. When I was at the states for a year, I was really curious with the message board website of the Disney Channel’s teen block (Zoog Disney) and so with the help of my mom’s email add from the World Bank, I have myself regsitered into Zoog Disney’s online forums. Now, that was when we have a bogus computer with a slow dial-up service. When we got a new Dell PC with a better dial-up service from AT&T, that’s how it really began. July 2001, my family visited our relatives in Normandy Ave., LA County, CA. there was one Filipino I’ve met who was surfing the net one night and logged himself in to a website called NEOPETS. At first it was an online chatroom so I got curious. Just before we left LA, I quickly remembered the name of the website-NEOPETS.COM. So in no timie at all, using my own email add, I regsitered myself into Neopets and  my first known username  was jbata5. Well, talked about that! Then I should have mentioned that it has  been six years since I first used my usernmae jbata5! hehehehehe! So anyway, not long after that< eventually got hooked on other online forums especially when we came home the year after. I registered myself under several names (which reflects my personality and personal favorites and everything that starts with the letter "j").     Some well known online forums that I’ve been to are the following: Neopets.com, zoogdisney.com, nick.com, kpopmusic.com. sokorean.com/forum, soompi.com, igma.tv, forum.abs-cbn.com, forums.abs-cbn.com, pinoyexchange.com, gendou.com, and a whole lot more. You know, I have been too much exposed to this foruming thing that you may as well call me a veteran. I still can’t believe that I’ve been into it for six years now and still doing it.     Less than a week by now will be my 17th birthday so not only will I celebrate it, I’l be celebrating jlhabitan@yahoo.com, jbata5, and my online foruming thing. THE END
