From a graduating student the year before to a full-fledge member of the country’s workforce the year after.
Exactly a year and 5 days ago, me and several hundred others marched inside the hallways of the PICC to close out the last years of our academic upbringing, in the hopes of going the high mile to reach my dreams.
A little over two year ago, I started a series of blog entries I called “The Pursuit“. It’s a little something of an attempt to share with you stories of my ongoing quest of pursuing a healthy and active lifestyle.
It started when I took a liking in joining cause-oriented fun runs exactly a year ago. And considering that I started working the following month, I thought it’d be nice to really start off the year 2012 to truly guide myself in achieving an active lifestyle by going to the gym, cleaning up my eating habits and regularly training for running events.

Why do I always keep my hopes up when the reality of the situation is that I will never be an integral part of what they have? Is the reason due that I was never there from the start until I stepped into the picture at a latter time?
I have long struggled to find a way to be there with them as I consider them a part of me but all I get in return is a cold, silent rejection. What have I done to deserve such treatment?
I should not even bother anymore and yet I couldn’t help myself but continually try.
I just hope they realize how much I tried to be there and yet I’m seen me that someone who they’re not just close to when in fact it is but could not recognize it.
2012: A year of b!tchslapping, bedhopping, sex, scandal, amnesia, murder, abuse, kidnappings, magic, baby-switching, DNA tests and some light-heartedness for a change.

Every year, the average Philippine drama continue to be the TV industry’s bread and butter that rakes in the millions that keep TV networks afloat. 2012 is no different.
Some titles played safe this year while others took unexpected risks in terms of storytelling, most of them geared on character-driven stories instead of plot-driven ones. Regardless, soap watchers will always tune in on the TV to watch their stories on a daily and nightly basis.
Same station. New Name.
This is going to be the first time since I started listening to DWRT-FM four years ago that I may not have something to look forward to on the frequency’s Saturday programming. Thus, this is gonna be the first time in four years (since the days of Campus 99.5) that the station won’t be airing a weekend oldies program since the new management slotted such a retrospective programming on Wednesdays to compete against Wave 89.1’s Waveback Wednesdays and RX 93.1’s Monster’s Riot.

Can’t believe that it’s end of the era again for one legendary radio station, and this time it’s for good.
The Rhythm of the City
By now, some of you may have already heard about the impending final sign-off of one of the most iconic radio brands ever to grace Manila’s FM band, 99.5RT, after more than 30 years on the air. RT as a format is going to be ditched in favor of one that’s similar to the likeness of its sister station (and over-all flagship brand of the TRPI/Tiger 22 radio empire), Magic 89.9, in order to boost revenues, or so I read online.

So this has been several months in the making and at one point, I thought it’s never going to happen. After spending countless leaves of absence and half-days, I finally got the call last Thursday, 1st August, that I’m officially going to work for GMA Worldwide, Inc. (GWI) this September.
